AECOM are recruiting for Resident Engineers to join our nearly 600 professionals in Ireland. Our local teams support projects with major utilities including Irish Water, Northern Ireland Water, Scottish Water and Manx Utilities, various local authorities and other government agencies

AECOM have been appointed by Irish Water to support the delivery of their major €4.8Bn Capital Investment Programme by 2021(CIP2021). Projects in CIP2021 include the construction and upgrade of water and wastewater treatment plants, water and sewerage networks and reservoir and dam infrastructure as such we are looking to expand our team of Resident Engineers and are looking for individuals at various levels who will have the ability to work independently or as part of a team and confidently communicate on site activities.
You will have a keen interest in assuring the highest quality workmanship, safe workplaces and timely administration of contracts in accordance with requirements. You will be at the forefront for delivery of a major national water infrastructure programme.
Main duties will include:
Monitoring the construction of the works
Liaison with local authority and Irish Water Project Manager
Liaison with the office based engineering teams
Stakeholder and project communications management on site. This will involve liaison with local residents, businesses and the general public.
Regularly review and update standard documentation including the Contract risk register and Project activity schedule and activity cost forecast
Maintain site diary with contemporaneous records of site activities
Prepare monthly reports in accordance Irish Water requirements.
The Resident Engineering Staff shall monitor the Contractor for compliance with the Safety Health & Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013 and in doing so utilise any associated Irish Water HSQE related instructions or processes.
Extensive post graduate relevant experience in a similar role
Relevant experience on site, supervising MECIA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation) Works on water / wastewater engineering projects.
Previous experience on site in the delivery of Major Capital Infrastructural Schemes Experience administering contracts using both the Public Works & FIDIC Contracts.
You will have good knowledge and awareness of Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
Chartered Status or equivalent would be an advantage although not essential
